Discover new data sources for better understanding around your organisational challenges.

You can’t work with what you don’t have, so data acquisition is fundamental to any integrated data management programme. Whether this is about understanding the data you already have or designing new ways to get the data you need, we can help.

  • Data discovery workshops

This workshop helps you explore the connected web of data that supports your organisation, community or project - looking at who contributes, who benefits, and how you can improve the quality of your information and the processes that make use of it.

This is particularly useful for exploring who has what data in strategic partnerships: we have previously run these for mixed public, private and civic sector partnership projects.

  • Data capture - online and offline

Sometimes the data you want is in the hands of, and you need to reach out to them where they are.

This can include the creation of effective surveys and forms, and we always pay attention to sources of bias or ways to engage organisations or people who don’t necessarily see themselves as data custodians by meeting them where they are.

  • Sensors and real time data capture

We love to build new ways to capture and process real time data, and have built devices that capture video, footfall counts, and air quality for use in either fixed or mobile settings.

We can also prototype and build real time data platforms that process and store this data for analysis and visualisation.

  • Simple apps to capture data

We’ve built simple apps that help people capture data more easily and work in a user-centred way to improve workflows

We can provide training and have facilitated mass data collection programmes with groups of participants using these apps as well.
